Icon Design to Improve Scannability

This particular project is for enterprise hospitality software. The navigation was designed to be task based, so there was no consistent navigational schema throughout the application. Though this helps keep the user focused, it also means that users can’t spatially memorize the location of buttons.

Adding icons improved the scannability of the task-based buttons to allow users to more quickly identify how to accomplish their tasks.

Icons to Improve the International Experience

Though this software will be localized for various languages and the app is capable of supporting double byte characters, we wanted to improve the usability for international hoteliers. This was the secondary reason for adding icons to the design.
